Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency is the most common nutrient disorder in the world and the most common cause of anaemia worldwide.

Iron is most commonly contained in red meat, but also chicken, fish, cheese and eggs. It is also contained in pulses and beans, tofu and green leafy vegetables, but in smaller amounts and it may not be so well absorbed from these foods.

Iron is required to make red blood cells and for these cells to work properly when carrying oxygen around the body, especially during exercise or any other activity.
